Backstory[]
A skilled thief hailing from a distant land of Zena, Nalis is an expert of stealth and melee combat. At only age thirteen, the mark of the accursed Darksign (a basic circle with various "spikes" jutting up in random places, often described to imitate a ring of fire) was found upon her body. Nalis was shipped off, far to the north, to the Asylum of the Undead, to await the end of the world. For five years Nalis waited patiently for the perfect opportunity to escape- and on the morning of her eighteenth birthday, a childhood friend (who went by the name of Oscar- he was quite possibly a love interest at this time) dropped into her cell a corpse containing a key. Nalis's reunion with her dear acquaintance was short and ended tragically- with the man she'd known for so long meeting his demise, or, better put, losing his sanity- and Hollowing.
Her dear friend Oscar had asked little of her in the final few moments of his life they shared, however passed on to Nalis a quest- a way to remember him, or to save herself temporarily from any Undead's inexorable fate, if nothing more. Nevertheless, weeks elapsed, which turned into months, which transformed into years, and the goal was forgotten. An Undead must have a goal to achieve to retain its humanity and cling onto its ever-fading sanity. With this in mind, Nalis created a new function for herself, if not a true responsibility, a way to delay the inevitable- her becomming Hollow.
Nalis arrived in Kritana something around a year after her escape from the Asylum, her newest quest (which still remains a mystery) driving her there. Something about this strange land appealed greatly to her, and in the process of finalizing her engagement, she took up residence, therefore delaying the full completion of her task. However, all things must draw to an end (which has not yet happened), and upon concluding her mission, Nalis would discover that she no longer knew what to do with herself, and eventually Hollow. A fragment of her soul would be preserved to later on bring Hugo into the world and allow Nalis to reincarnate and find a new way to contribute to the planet.
